Antique French Ironstone Mustard Jar

Antique French Ironstone Mustard Jar
Don’t you adore ironstone jars especially those with a story? I actually let out a little squeal of delight when I came across this one at a brocante or flea market here in southwest France.
This is an antique stoneware “Dijon Grey-Poupon” mustard jar made by the Sarreguemines pottery. Since the early 19th century, Sarreguemines provided the world with a vast collection of earthenware pieces.
These crocks can serve an array of purposes, such as holding your teaspoons in your coffee station or paint brushes in your studio, or just to stand proud at the front of your ironstone collection.
It’s in excellent antique condition with no cracks or chips. There is a lovely patina and wear showcasing the piece’s age and authenticity.
These types of everyday jars are harder and harder to find. Treat yourself to this one.
