French passementarie is the art of making elaborate trimmings or edgings . . . and this is a fabulous example.

The first thing I noticed when I selected this antique trim was how incredibly soft it was. It is a beautifully woven jacquard cotton border of excellent quality and condition. There are no rips or stains. Just the perfect patina that can only come from authenticity.

The soft colors make it perfect in both a traditional or modern interior setting. I can see it adorning a well-crafted pillow or duvet. Add a length to the bottom of a guest towel to make it one-of-a-kind. Beyond home textiles, this trim would be fabulous incorporated into haute couture construction. Maybe something special on the bodice of a young girl’s dress?

I just love it! You’ll never find this textile again.
