French Ironstone Transferware Trivet in Duck Egg Green with Fisherman
Vintage ironstone trivets marry together two of my favorite things: Transferware patterns and decorative wood trims. This lovely example of a fisherman enjoying a quiet afternoon on the river is perfect for your French farmhouse kitchen. The original frame is intact and in good condition. (The underside board could do with a small nail to secure it tightly. See photo.) As is with early ironstone, you have all the patina you expect but there are no chips or cracks. An authentic piece for your collection.
I love the story it carries.
I like to use large transferware trivets for my cheese course. Imagine setting her in the middle of a table with a basket full of fresh French bread nearby. Divine. You could create an entire table setting around this one-of-a-kind piece.
